Export Compliance Specialist (XCSAUS) - Finance , Austin, TX(Austin)
Ensure Company’s compliance with US Dept of Commerce (DOC) Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) Export Administration (EAR), International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) and U.S. Customs Regulations and guidelines. Guide and monitor all exports of goods and technical data in compliance with all applicable US export laws and regulations
Research, interpret and provide guidance on trade regulations implemented and enforced by the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) (Export Administration Regulations (EAR)), Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) (International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)), Department of the Treasury, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Department of Commerce, Census Bureau (Foreign Trade Statistics Regulations) and any other special trade programs/exporting regulatory agencies, as required. Work with all other business units to determine short and long term trade compliance requirements and potential issues. Develop strategies to meet business requirements and provide advice on the impact of export regulations. Oversight of the generation and management of complex licenses, CJs, DSP-5s, TAAs, and MLA's.
Expanded Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversight and continued development, of Rainmaker Systems, Inc. export control program and international trade practices.
- Determining Export licensing requirements for both shipping and access to defense articles or services in foreign countries.
- Providing formal training, day to day guidance, and internal audit support for various compliance issues.
- Developing and coordinating internal compliance policies, procedures and related training.
- Staying abreast of changes to regulatory environment and communicating significant changes to management and staff.
- Conducting internal audits and investigations on compliance matters.
- Preparing various export licenses and Technical Assistance Agreements.
- Coordinating with freight forwarders and shipping departments to ensure all shipments are compliant with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) requirements.
- Communicating export licensing restrictions to program managers and their staff.
- Working with Financial Operations Manager and Legal Officer to ensure export requirements are addressed prior to award of contracts.
- Daily interaction with program managers, supply chain management.
- Ensuring compliance with international laws as it relates to Federal Government contracting.
- Conducting internal compliance audits and investigations.
- Liaising with government representatives as needed.
- Staying current with laws and legislation that impact export and government contracting compliance matters.
Job Requirements
Skills & Competencies- Bachelor's degree required, or commensurate experience.
- Minimum 3 years business experience, with at least 2 years experience working with international trade compliance; preferably related to the defense industry.
- Strong knowledge of the ITAR, EAR, OFAC and FAR (as relates to compliance issues.
- Superior writing skills.
- Must have significant experience preparing export licenses for the State Department (DoS) and familiarity with D-Trade.

- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
- Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
