What does Rainmaker do?
Rainmaker Systems is a leading outsource provider of sales and marketing services for companies that want to drive more sales. Rainmaker offers a closed-loop sales process and a comprehensive suite of services that ensures companies are both filling their sales pipelines with quality leads and closing them efficiently and cost effectively. Core services include telesales, integrated direct marketing and hosted e-commerce. Additional offerings include a proprietory database, custom database enhancement services, CRM technology integration and order management.

Rainmaker helps over 50 companies ranging from Fortune 500 to dynamic technology start-ups, grow their revenues and increase customer loyalty by providing lead generation and contract renewal sales solutions.

How long has Rainmaker been in business?
The company was founded in 1991 as uniDirect Corporation, a catalogue business. In may 1998, the company sold the catalogue business, subsequently changed its name to Rainmaker Systems, Inc. and focused entirely on outsourcing sales and marketing services.

What is Rainmaker's revenue recognition policy?
Rainmaker complies with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Our current revenue reporting practices are consistent with the revenue reporting criteria established in the Financial Accounting Standards Board's Emerging Issues Task Force Issue No. EITF 99-19 ("Reporting Revenue Gross as a Principal versus Net as an Agent"). We sell products and services on behalf of our clients whereby we record revenue "net," equal to the amount we earn in the transaction.
