Telesales Representative

Position Summary

The Telesales Representative (TSR) will make outbound calls to sell client's products to customers (businesses and/or individuals) in order to achieve sales quotas. Will apply professional selling techniques, including strategic business planning, comprehensive customer profiling, daily pipeline management, source code capture and closing techniques. This role also requires answering inbound calls. Customers receive direct marketing information which identifies TSR's outbound pipeline and drives inbound customer calls.

Essential Functions
  • Working from customer lists and/or database, make outbound follow-up calls to existing customers to qualify leads and sell products and service contracts.
  • Close a medium volume of sales orders. Sales are medium complexity and the sales rep performs a consultative role for the customers.
  • Determine appropriate escalation point to provide solutions
  • Ability to overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers.
  • Emphasize features and benefits of represented products/services; provide accurate quotes, and ensure correct credit terms and vendor information is in database.
  • Manage pipeline report.
  • Meet or exceed all sales quotas and activity objectives in assigned territory.
  • Use sound judgment and discretion when making decisions that affect the business unit, such as, appropriate and timely escalation, adjusting margins or providing discounts to close a sale.
  • Develop positive relationships with client's field sales representatives to increase opportunity and exposure to business unit.
  • Provide high quality service to customers and prospects by assessing customer requirements, ensuring prompt response in providing product information and product pricing.
  • Qualify each sales opportunity by applying learned sales techniques
  • Generate sales opportunities by responding to all inbound requests, including telephone, fax, mail, and email requests.
  • Actively profile all customers and use effective telephone selling skills to promote client products, service programs and systems.
  • Build the customer/prospect database by profiling and capturing relevant customer and product information.
  • Attend sales training, lectures, presentations and big deal pipeline meetings.
  • Recommend improvements or changes to internal processes and data processing to meet or exceed sales goals and to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS preferred and at least 2 years telesales experience or equivalent.
  • Call center or telesales experience using consultive selling skills preferred.
  • Candidate must be a self-starter and demonstrate commitment to task in a highly competitive sales environment.
  • Has excelled in a high phone activity environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively; excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a PC environment
  • Dependable, energetic and strong desire to sell.
  • Must be able to sit for sustained periods of time.
